Amyjen’s First Post!

Hi. I’m Amy. I am starting an entertainment company, Amyjen Entertainment, with my friend Jen. I’ve been kicking around names for years but everything I came up with was already taken. I was initially going to start this company on my own, but we decided two awesome women with different strengths are better than one. And now we have a name. Its pronounced imagine in case you wondering!

Jen and I met in NYC, where we hung out in this little music scene on Bleecker Street.  Now she lives in Tennessee, and I live in Austin, TX. We want to help create unique live music experiences that will create magical memories for people. I’m lucky enough to have a lot of those special memories myself, as does Jennifer, and I want to help create that for others. We want to make money for the artists who create that one in a lifetime live experience because it never happens exactly the same way twice. We want to make money for ourselves. We also want to donate a portion of our profits from every event to traumatic brain injury research, awareness, and rehabilitation.  Yes, we want to make money, but its not about the money. It about living our passion and purpose and sharing it with others, and also helping a cause that has effected both of us in very personal ways.

Amyjen Entertainment is just getting started. This is a learning experience for us. Such is life. We are all learning about life and experience every day. I hope that our passion and our spirit for giving back will make this venture a success. Its a journey we are taking, and we hope that you will take it with us.

“You can’t know this right now, but…
your ragged, rugged honesty…
your crazy, passionate, naked vulnerability…
your trusting plunge into the unknown of Life at every turn…
your journey of love and healing…
these change your world, the world of those around you and the world as a whole.
Someday you’ll know how important you are.”
―Jacob Nordby

“Well, you don’t know what we can find
Why don’t you come with me little girl
On a magic carpet ride
You don’t know what we can see
Why don’t you tell your dreams to me
Fantasy will set you free
Close your eyes girl
Look inside girl
Let the sound take you away” –Magic Carpet Ride– Steppenwolf
